Ideology
DOMINIE-WERK No.26: BÉTON BRUT aka "THE BRUTALIST" is an obfuscated vade mecum. It occupies the tenuous latitude between a book and paper trash. Printed insanely dense and over several layers of ink on paper, it is also bound both sides, making it almost impossible to devour the 640 pages. Pure, honest and blunt, this edition is a response to the Brutalist ideology, created in collaboration with Dominie Press. It is, artlessly, what it is.
Collaborators
The creation of this magazine is a collaboration between DominiePress and WERK Magazine, as a challenge to push the boundaries of print through experimentation. The magazine and a limited edition T-shirt in collaboration with The Salvages was launched at Dover Street Market Singapore on 28 July 2018.
The Salvages and WERK Magazine teamed up to throw a popup installation and workshop event at RYSE Hotel in Hongdae, Seoul, on 3 November 2018, after its successful launch at DSMS. Limited edition 2fer T-shirt and hoodie were also created for this popup as featured on Hypebeast.
